Our founder and Proposed Trustee: In 2013 Sam had an idea of running a charity tractor run and with the help of friends and family held our first tractor run with 13 tractors taking part and raising around £300.  Fast forward to 2025 and the number of tractors had grown to 136, raising over £10,800 in 2025 for the Lincolnshire Rural Partnership Network.

Sam has Cerebral Palsy and is a full time wheelchair user but he does not let his disability stop him. A keen tractor enthusiast he enjoys restoring vintage tractors, which is what gave him the idea of organising a charity tractor run.

Proposed Trustee: An electrician by trade and running his own successful electrical business, Rob has lived in Trusthorpe all his life giving him many connections in the local community. His hobby and passion is all things tractors, having built a collection of vintage and classic tractors, personally restoring many of them in his spare time.  Rob has been involved in our activities from the very beginning, helping to organise the very first run; he also masterminded the 2024 'Tour de Lincolnshire' with Vintage Tractors, raising tens of thousands for two local charities. His experience makes him a great asset for our organisation.

Proposed Trustee:  Joe lives and breathes farming, working for a large family-owned local farming business.  He was  born and bred in the Alford area and knows and is respected by many people in the local farming and wider community. Although his job means he’s generally very busy Joe has found time to play a big part of our tractor run since 2023, with his detailed knowledge of local farm tracks and byways within the local area making him invaluable when planning routes for our tractor runs.

Proposed Trustee: Retired motor engineer, Pete has 50+ years running his own local garage business.   Being born near Alford and living in the Sutton on Sea area all his life, he is a perfect fit for our organisation, bringing his local connections, his experience of running his own business, coupled with a passion of most things mechanical. Pete’s hobby during his working life was driving in the 750 Formula motor racing series (the world's longest running formula) and he maintains a keen interest in that sport. After he decided to hang up his racing overalls and helmet, he turned his attention to restoring classic cars and becoming involved with our tractor run.

Proposed Trustee: The Dairy Manager at Farmer Browns, Flo has a great passion for dairy cattle and has a keen eye for detail, taking much pride in her work; having worked at a number of dairy farms across the country before coming to Lincolnshire, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge.  Flo is the newest member of our team bringing exciting new ideas and enthusiasm. She will be a great asset to our team as we enter a new chapter.

Ex Officio Proposed Trustee:  Andy is the charity's secretary, dealing with all aspects of our administration; as such he hold the position of an ex officio trustee.  Now retired, Andy brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, having started his working career as a police officer in Hertfordshire before becoming a light aircraft pilot instructor in Dundee.  He finished his working life as a commercial fraud investigator, a job that took him all over the world.  Andy joined our team in 2022 as a marshal for that tractor run and since then has become involved with all aspects of what we want to achieve.

Volunteer: A former police officer, retiring to Lincolnshire after 30 years service with the Derbyshire Police as a traffic officer,  Neil's first involvement was with the 2022 tractor run as a marshal.  From then on his experience and knowledge have proven highly valuable while planning and running the tractor run, to which he brings a sense of professionalism and calmness to the proceedings.

Volunteer: Josephine has been with us since the beginning.   Born and bred in Lincolnshire, she is very well known locally, especially the farming community, having grown up on her family farm and then working most of her life at Tong Engineering Spilsby; she has also been heavily involved with Young Farmers. Josephine has been responsible for checking-in all of the tractors in on the morning of the tractor run and also helps with marshalling, putting up posters and collecting prizes for our ever popular raffle.

Volunteer: Caterpillar and Plant mechanic originally from Derbyshire, now living in the Sutton on Sea area. Richard joined us in 2023 is happy to help out in any way he can even though often saying “I hate tractors”, he follow the convoy of tractors to offer breakdown support if needed. Aside from offering breakdown support during the tractor run he assists with parking, marshalling and preparation.

Volunteer: Rachel works in the NHS at a local GP Surgery.  She has many connections to the local community, having lived and worked in the Alford area all her life.  Joining the team in 2022, she has taken charge of running our raffle on the day of the tractor run, helping us to grow the raffle to what it has become today, knowing that it is in at safe pair of hands - in 2025 we sold in the region of 3000 raffle tickets, so it's no mean feat to keep track of proceedings!
